This cute boy turned 6! He's been talking about it for weeks. I think that he thought something magical would happen when he hit his 6th year.
It was a super happy day for him. At school they had a 'dress like your favorite character in a book' day on his birthday. We found this awesome hat when picking up some party supplies and he was in love. He wore this as his party hat and Where the Wild Things Are character.
We decided to stick with a birthday that would perfectly resemble things that make a 6 year old laugh. So, the theme was 'Bad Manners'. We started with pizza and pop with a burping competition. The kids LOVED it! There was a whole lot of laughing while they ate. . . and burping.
After dinner we got out the sunflower seeds and had a spitting competition. About a third of the seeds landed within a foot of where people stood, but some of the kids were pretty good distance spitters. They all wanted second turns.
After spitting, we had a piñata and then on to whoopee cushions and cake and ice cream with no utensils. The kids really had a blast. There was a lot of laughing and giggling. We're pretty sure this will be our last time throwing a birthday with 17 kids and only two adults. Let's just say it was a bit crazy, and it didn't help that Emmett spiked a fever during the party and mostly just had to be held. We're so glad that Noah's first friend birthday was memorable for him.
