Mother’s Day!

Sometimes I feel like this is what I do all day long:

but then I watch this:

and it makes me feel like the never ending laundry, the cleaning up after three little boys, the sleepless nights . . . is worth it.  I don’t always remember the purpose behind what I’m doing, but when my boys show me how much they love me I can’t help but know with a surety that being a mother is the most important job I will ever do in my life.  I love my little boys, and admittedly, I miss them when I spend any time away from them.

Hyrum’s preschool teacher (Mrs. White) asked him a few questions about me and he gave it to me for Mother’s Day.  This is what it said:

My mom looks prettiest when: She’s outside
My mom’s favorite food is: macoroni and cheese (I thought this was the funniest one, since we haven’t eaten this for months and I can’t recall ever saying that I liked itSmile)
She is happy when: I am good
My mom is 7 years old
If my mom could go anywhere she would go  to home
Her best friend is  me
Her job is   doing the dishes
I love my mom because  I help her a lot.

Smores!

I think my all time favorite thing about living where we live is being SO close to AF Canyon and that means minutes away from hikes, adventures, and smores!

May the Fourth Be With You

Maybe the boys haven’t seen all of the Star Wars Movies. . . ok, they haven’t even seen one all the way through, but they love Yoda and Lightsabers.  So, this is the year we got to celebrate it!  It was fun having a little party with their cousins eating yummy food, decorating cookies, and watching a classic.  We had Hoth Dogs, Han Burgers, Yoda Soda, and Nathan came up with Ship Chips.  Till next year, may the fourth be with you:)

Fun Day

So, the day began not so fun.  Owen woke up at 5:45 am and was ready to rock and roll.  Shortly after; Hyrum woke up, and then Noah woke up. By 8 Owen was ready for a nap so I put a show on for the boys and decided to take a quick cat nap.  Well, my eyes opened at 10:30!!!!  I went down to find the boys STILL glued to the TV.  I DON'T let them watch that much TV, so I was kind of worried how the rest of the day was going to go.   I knew that the only way to redeem myself was to spend the rest of the day having fun.  We went to one of the parks that I don't take the boys to very often and played and had a picnic for two hours!  The boys had so much fun!

I love all the trails and walkways all around our city.  I had to stop and grab a quick picture of the boys. . . Noah ran behind me, but these two guys were pretty cute!

After the park the boys rode their bikes and played with a neighbors dog for another hour or so and then we went out to eat an early dinner with some friends at the new golf course grill (yummm!).  We got home just in time to grab the boys shin guards and head to their first soccer game of the year!  This will be Hyrum's third Tot Soccer and Noah's first.  I'm so glad they will be able to play together before Hyrum turns 5.  They played really well.  Hyrum was quite the star of the field (being the oldest), because he always knew what direction the ball was supposed to be going.  He really liked being the leader.  During one part of the game he kicked the ball all the way across the field by himself and scored a goal.

Noah played really well too.  He loved being on Hyrum's team.  It helped him not be so shy.  He pretty much copied everything Hyrum did, but he didn't follow him around everywhere.  In the picture below (I know it's hard to see)  he got possession of the ball and kicked it for a while.  Later in the game the ball went off the field, so Noah ran and picked it up, carried it in front of the goal, and then kicked it in.  No, not technically a point, but I won't tell him that.

After the game we went and got milkshakes to celebrate their awesome game and our fun day.  They'll be sleeping well tonight:).

Grandpa

I always seem to forget to take pictures when Grandma and Grandpa Partridge are in town, but I finally got proof!  Grandpa Partridge was in town for a quick visit.  We met at a park and had a picnic with Ryan, Jennifer and their family and Grandpa.  Afterwards he came over for a haircut, but we had him help Hyrum with his book he was reading before they went to bed.  I love Noah's facial expression.

Owen is 7 Months!

Ok, he's now officially 7 1/2 months!   A LOT has happened in the last few weeks in his development.

(See those hazel eyes?  He's our first baby without definite brown eyes)

He's started 'talking'.  I was ecstatic when he said his first word a couple of weeks ago, "Momma".  He looked directly at me and said it very intentionally.  He said it again a few more times that day, but hasn't said it since.  Maybe it was a fluke, but I'll still claim it:)

Here's another big one:  Owen can CRAWL!!!  He's getting pretty fast now too.  The house is no longer safe.  I have to watch out for stairs now, because he keeps trying to climb up them or venture down them.   He's also pulling himself up to stand on tables, chairs, and pretty much anything he can get too.  He scares me!  I wouldn't be suprised if he's walking in a couple of months.  He just is not happy sitting still anymore, and I'm a little sad to see my baby growing so fast.  I think he just wants to keep up with his brothers.  He loves Hyrum and Noah and always wants to be with them.  He has a little baby crush on Noah especially.  Noah can make him laugh and when Noah's on the ground it won't be long before Owen is on top of him or trying to tackle him with slobbers.
