So the past few Saturdays and Memorial Day have been filled with dirt. We are attempting to beautify our beast of a backyard. Before we began on that though, we worked on the front yard

In the picture it may not look like a huge difference, but for some reason the previous owner planted all the big stuff in the front and hid the little stuff behind it, which means you couldn't really see any of the flowers. We did a full swap, and added pretty blue ground covering flowers that should fill out the rest of the garden within the next couple of years.
Oh, and our Peonies bloomed!! Don't they just make you happy?
Another thing that makes me very happy is this next picture, because it's no longer a barren/weedy yuck spot. Brett transplanted the Dogwood from our backyard and HE BUILT that beautiful planter box. He is the best husband ever!

Looks great! Our peonies just bloomed, too, and I am loving them! I had to cut some for a vase in the kitchen so I can enjoy them inside, too.
