Disneyland Day Two

Day two was much anticipated by the boys. They had so much fun the first day and couldn't wait to start again.

We ran straight for Dumbo and then hit several of the other rides in Fantasy Land. We spent all morning there and could have spent the whole day going on these rides.

The highlight of the day happened just after lunch. We were waiting for the Jedi Training show and we got seats right up front. Brett had the boys jump up and down and wave their arms when they were picking train-ees, and Hyrum got chosen. He was so excited to use the lightsaber and learn all the cool moves. He got to dual Darth Vader and kept chopping at his ankles, which got some laughs from the audience. It was so fun!

Then we waved goodbye to the happiest place on earth. . .

Disneyland: Noah’s Big T-H-R-E-E

This week began with a long drive to California to go to the happiest place on earth strategically planned on Noah’s birthday. I can’t believe he’s growing up so fast. I’ll talk more about this handsome man later! Here are some pictures of our fun day!

Here we are about to get into the park:IMG_0345

The Rocket ride. Noah LOVED this ride!

Autopia was a hit!IMG_0365

Bugs Land was one of their favorites. Ladybug’s, Flik’s Flyers, Bumper Bugs, . (notice Noah's face in the bumper bugs. He looked that intense pretty much the whole time he was driving. . . watch out when he turns 16!)IMG_0383

Noah was getting so tired in the afternoon that he could barely keep his eyes open. We decided to quiet things down a bit and went to the Disney Jr. Live Show and Talk with Crush. I loved how excited they were about everything. Noah loved being there for his Birthday and getting all the attention. Shortly after the shows I went back to the hotel with Noah and Owen. We quieted things down and he fell asleep quickly. Hyrum and Brett had a fun boys night at the park together.

Da Boyz!

This little man is just about FIVE months old!  Where has the time gone?  I feel like he is still a little newborn, but the days, weeks, and months keep passing.  He rolls around all over the floor now and ‘talks’ frequently.  We’re still working on the whole sleep through the night thing, but hoping he will soon be a pro.  He’s our first baby to not have obvious big brown eyes. I think they’re still undecided.  Depending on what he’s wearing they either look hazel-brown or dark blue, but always beautiful.  He has the sweetest smile and laugh and is a perfect third child.

Hyrum is such a great big brother.  He’s always looking after Owen and playing with Noah.  He loves telling stories and explaining how to do everything.  He’s kind of bossy, but I guess that comes along with being the oldest.  He’s so smart and loves learning.  He’s doing really well at his preschool and his reading books from school are now in full sentences.  He loves passing off his books and getting new ones. We signed him up for kindergarten next fall and that both terrifies and excites me.  He loves getting challenged and I know he will do really well in the environment, but I’m still torn weather or not it’s the right decision.  With a summer birthday he will be young, which is usually not a great idea for a boy. . .there are just so many factors that we’ve taken into consideration.  We don’t want this one decision to ruin his life forever!  We’re moving forward with kindergarten registration papers, but still aren’t 100% sure.    IMG_0304

He’s also quite the artist.  He drew this picture of swings (One swing for each person in the family) and then wrote his name on it without any help.  He’s such a sweet boy and I’m so glad that he’s our oldest.IMG_0285

Yes, take a closer look at this last picture and you’ll realize that the baby Noah is holding is Hyrum.  They wanted to play baby and they took turns being wrapped up and pretending to be a baby.  Noah is such a sweet, sensitive little man.  He’s so caring and loving.  He is shy and prefers to stay with Brett or I whenever we are around other people that he doesn’t know.  He loves his brothers, a lot.  He tells me he loves me and is my snuggle buggle.  His volume tends to stay at an uncomfortable loud range, which can frequently drive us crazy, but I still love him.  Next week he’s turning three.  Where has time gone?  I can’t believe how big he is.

Simply Life

Not much has happened lately in my life other than getting my food blog up and going.  BUT, the boys, on the other hand have been crazy busy saving the world by ‘swording all of the bad guys’ and catching scurvy pirates.  It’s tough being a boy and having to protect me and all the other innocent people.  The world was a much safer place after tying some rubber bands onto the plastic ring that connected the Costco ketchups together.  It was their favorite disguiss!  I will never throw those things away again.

After all of the exhausting play (even for Dad) they got ready for bed.  I loved seeing all my favorite men lined up after a crazy day, watching a show.

Tried and True-sday

I have a lot of catching up to do on this blog because I've been preoccupied with organizing and taking pictures for my new blog. Well, it's finally up and running, so feel free to check it out. Over the next few weeks I will eventually delete all of the recipes on this blog so that it will be easier to have this for only family things and the other blog for food. Until I get caught up, here's my food site:

Family Pictures 2012

I have so much to catch up on with this blog, but my 'boys asleep' time is pretty limited, so here's a little picture action that I just couldn't wait to post any more. We had these taken in Mesa while we were there for Christmas. I'm so glad we had the opportunity to piggy back our little family pictures after the big Partridge family shots. I love how they all turned out!

AWOL

We had kind of a rough week last week.  Owen decided that night was day and day was not much better.  After a couple of nights waking up to him screaming almost every hour, we decided to start on the cry-out and soothe sleep training this weekend.  So far we have seen great improvement and only hope his schedule will continue to get better each day.

One of my new years resolutions was to really dig in and organize all my favorite recipes.  I can't help but LOVE trying out new recipes and experimenting in the kitchen.  With all the thing's that have been made in our kitchen I've collected some great stacks of goodness, and it's time to put them all in one place.  Brett has advised me to get started on a Tried and Trues-day blog for a while now, but it sounded too overwhelming.  This last week he helped me see how much easier it would be to stay organized on a separate blog, so the work has begun!  I'm really excited to get things organized and easy to locate.  It's a lot of work in the evenings before I hit the pillow, but I'm excited to have this new project.  The blog is currently 'under construction' but once I get it fully in swing the way I want it I'll be sure to let you all know.  So, until I get that blog going this one will be lonely on posts. . . hopefully only about a week.
