The Boys Are Back in Town

Ok, I have at least 6 posts I need to do before it backs up to much, so in the next couple of days be prepared for a plethera. The first Rushton Reunion from my Mom and Dad was held last week and in preparation for that we had some company. My sister Michelle, her husband Scott, and their baby Troy that's just a month younger than Noah. We had a lot of fun with them here. Michelle and I were working on projects like crazy, Scott got to go golfing like crazy, and the boys had crazy fun.Once Mom and Dad got into town they of course had to show Hyrum how to really eat a watermelon (and yes, he did eat ALL of that plus some dinner):

Things I love. . . and just things

LOVE:Chocalate Milkshake mustache. Can life get any better? I submit that it cannot!
Noah found his feet!!! Yay for homemade entertainment! In this house you've got to work for your dinner, boy:). I taught Hyrum how to use the vacuum hose to suck up his crumbs. He loved the magic of it all!
Hyrum is helping me cut the strawberries for jam. He's such a great helper.

Stuff:
Hyrum hit Noah in the head with something and so I immediately put an ice pack on him so that we wouldn't see the shape of the toy imprinted on his head. It really wasn't that bad, but he looked cute with his little turban on.
No wise cracks. . . really. Hyrum pulled his diaper down and wanted to go play outside like this. You can see why we wouldnt' let him.

Day 4? and beyond

Yes, there are no pictures on this post, but day 4 did really happen. I'll be adding them once I can confiscate some from my in-laws. There are no pictures because that was my 'blind day'. My right eye started bothering me Friday night and by Saturday morning i could barely open it. My eye looked really sci-fi red-creepy (ya, I'm really glad we have no picture evidence of that one). The best way I could think to describe the feeling was acid tears, sandpaper eyelids, and burning light. Basically, it wasn't a very fun day. Brett took Hyrum out to play at Disneyland and California Adventures all day, which I was very grateful for. They had a lot of fun. I layed in the dark hotel room, eyes shut and wearing a patch, with Noah. The trip through the airport and back home was an adventure. I was able to open my left eye every few seconds to make sure I was following the yellow shirt of Bretts. Luckily, I couldn't see the people giving me funny looks. I guess not everyone walks around with hat, sunglasses with a patch underneath, and a baby in their arms around the airport and on the plane everyday:) I got into an Opthemologist on Monday and he found that I have a Cornial Ulsur. So, I've been meeting with the Doc and doing a very regimented and intense eye drop routine for the past week. My eye sight is almost completely back and I'll hopefully be able to be normal by next Wednesday. As for the other boys they've all been sick with colds. I think Hyrum got the worst of it, or at least he's reacting the worst. But, through all the tests he's had, we know that he doesn't have strep, an ear infection, or swine flew. Really, life is good it was just one crazy week.

Day 3

Today started with a character breakfast. It was fun to see Lilo, Stitch, Goofy, and Minnie. Hyrum especially liked Lilo and learning hula with her.
When they think no one is watching. . .
Then we got to LegoLand and Hyrum fell in love with this park because of the water. There were several water areas that he LOVED playing in. He and his cousin Megan were having tons of fun in these water-filled shapes
This was one of the older kids favorite (all the parents) it was a race in firetrucks and using pretend firehoses on a 'burning' building.

Day 2

Dumbo anyone? This is one of Hyrums favorite rides he likes going "Up, Up, Up!"Flick's Flyers was Hyrums all time favorite ride at California Adventure. I think his face says it all. Obi Noah Kanobe. The force is strong with this one.
A chance meeting with Mr. Incredible was greatly enjoyed. Check out those guns! Amazing we all got through security, really.

Disneyland Day 1

We arrived in California Tuesday afternoon. Brett and I were so excited to get going with the fun. Hyrum, on the other hand, was content, but didn't really understand the anticipation that we had. He seemed to be most excited about his new friend (also a child leash). We named him Mo the Monkey.
Wednesday morning we started in Toon Town, where we got to see Mayor Mickey and ride a few of the kid rides. I loved all of the cool fountains. who says you can't have elegance and humor in the same place. Noah enjoyed his ride in the carrier for most of the time. It wasn't until half way through Thursday that he started to get a little annoyed with being put in it. During our lunch stop I took this picture of Noah. He's gettting so big. Isn't he just so stinkin' cute!?!When the Partridge's invade Disneyland you're likely to see a sea of matching shirts invading rides all together. WoooHooo! Hyrum loved the Autopia ride. He didn't quite catch on to the need of lines and waiting, but he did add a new word to his vocabulary: "RIDE!!".

A weekend alone

So, this last weekend Brett went down to Arizona to pick up some of his old stuff at his parents house. It was a very quick trip, but we had some fun while he was gone. Here are a few pictures:
Hyrum reading to Noah.Noah's first time in the Bumbo. I only left him in it for a few minutes, but he sure was cute. When he got back we had some fun unpacking it all and playing with some of Brett's old toys, literally. Here's Hyrum playing with Wee Waffle Blocks and wearing an old cowboy costume. Everything old is new again.
