When Winter Returns

It's sad to let the boys play outside all day and then tell them they can't the next. It's snowing, and Mom doesn't even want to look at it. So, to get my mind off the winter in spring blues we've been having fun doing this:Thank goodness for vinegar, dish soap, food coloring, and baking soda. . . my kind of science!

Good clean fun

Note to self: when you take the clothes out of the dryer and put them on your bed upstairs, be sure to shut the dryer door before walking away. Both boys downstairs without mom and an open dryer= When I entered the scene I could hear Hyrum yelling, "Mom! Count! Hiding! Count!!!"

Trying to get something done

On Thursday I was desperately trying to clean the house up. Two problems with that. . .
Noah runs over to ride the vacuum the second I turn it on. When I FINALLY did get done vacuuming I checked to see why Hyrum wasn't running around me like usual. I found him washing his hands. . . and then I saw a large amount of crumbs all over the counter and floor. He had eaten a FOURTH of a LOAF of BREAD!!!! You can see some of the crumbs on the counter in the picture. When I asked about it he just said, "Yummy bread, crumbs hands, wash off"Oh, and Carl's Jr. gets three stars from Noah

No more babies

Dying Easter eggs was a fun experiment. Brett was in charge of that one, and Hyrum seemed to like dipping. This past week Noah has 'claimed' this chair as his own. He is CONSTANTLY climbing or sitting in it. I had to take a few pictures because today I looked over and he was just chilling on the chair, completely calm, like a cute little grandpa. Once I started taking the pictures he got a little silly, and then Hyrum had to join in.After I took the pictures it reminded me of this one: (Time flies by!!!)

The season

When it's cold and windy and I want the sun and warm so badly. . . this is all we could do to make it a little better.
Strawberry jam makes me happy! Hyrum was great at cutting the strawberry's. . . but I must warn you that if you have any jam from this batch Hyrum may have taken a bite of each strawberry before he cut it up:)Oh, and have a HAPPY EASTER!

One Fine Day

I love days like yesterday. It was just a great day! We went swimming for the first time this year. Hyrum LOVED the "Big Bath!!!" aka community rec center pool. They have a huge kiddie pool area that he could run around in and go down the slide. We were the only ones in the section most of the time. Noah was pretty scared the first half of the time. He was holding on tight and wouldn't let go, but after sitting with him for a while and letting him just watch what was going on without moving, he finally started splashing and then wanted to play. Then in the afternoon we drove up to Ogden and got to visit with Great-Grandma Partridge. The boys were a little rambunctious, so we couldn't stay for too long, but it was nice visiting. Hyrum was being so funny when we were there. He recently has picked up a moderate obsession with monsters and loves finding them, capturing them, and blaming all messes on them. . . Anyway, while we were there
he started searching for monsters and reassured G-Gma that they were all gone and she was safe. Then Brett blew up a plastic glove for him into a balloon and Hyrum decided to tickle G-Gma with it and then tuck it into her bed under the blankets for a nap. I love the innocence and humor of our little people. When we left we met up with my sister and her kids at a big duck pond to play. Hyrum kept chasing after the ducks yelling, "Big Hug! Big Hug!!!" Noah loved to eat half of the cracker and then throw the other half at the ducks. It was a lot of fun hanging out with the cousins. What a great day: swimming, Great-Grandma, and cousins!

Moments to journal

A lot of times right after dinner Brett goes and lays down on the floor. Hyrum decided that he would take care of him. He laid down next to him and put these 'blankets' on so they could go to sleep. . . and of course that turned into a wrestling match. Noah now loves to join in!Who says you can't compromise a healthy snack. Hyrum was begging for ice cream. . . but apple slices in a waffle cone made him just as happy.
Joyous Spring. . . let the gardening begin!!! Oh, and notice the posts, we're getting a fence put in and I am ecstatic!!!
